Cold wind, warm sunshine, gales and hail ...

... we’ve had it all today!

The sun was bright at 09:30 as we winded (turned) on the Thames ...

... to go back up Abingdon Lock to use the facilities before descending again and continuing downstream ...

... passing nb No Problem; we’ve already said ‘cheerio ‘till next summer’ to Sue and Vic ...

... Sue’s flower carpet is still looking good albeit just a bit windblown this morning!

Under Abingdon Bridge ...

... and once more passing by that impressive spire ...

... and the tug being used as base and warning for the dredgers although no-one was working today.

Not noticed this before - the site of the original Wilts and Berks Canal junction with the Thames.

Culham Bridge is narrow and not a good place to meet on oncoming vessel ...

... and this hire boat had quite a bit of trouble getting out of the way (notice that the lady in pink standing in the bow above has now sat down and continued with her knitting!)

Clifton Hampden Bridge with the church of St Michael and All Angels in the distance

The dredger from Abingdon has been moored on what looks like an old jetty at Burcot ...

... and where just a short distance away we found the ideal mooring spot ... where we spied some fairly fresh sawdust and wondered if this was where No Problem moored last weekend!

There are good views here too - down the Thames towards Days Lock ...

... and this fantastic lake across the meadow ...

... with more spectacular views towards Wittenham Clump ...

Where Molly had a blow-out over the meadow ...
... with George!
As soon as we got back from our walk the heavens opened, the temperature dropped, the wind got up and the hail and rain came down for about 15 minutes after which the sun came out, we had a bbq for dinner and yet another stunning sunset!
